When im backing up in reverse, every once in a while I will hear a grinding noise....it sounds like power steering in old ford pickups. It only makes the noise when I turn, and its not the gear noise coming from the trans. I was thinking it has to be the axles? Maybe the cv joint im not sure though.

I slid the boots up the axle and repacked the grease on my CV joints. They are quiet now. I carefully pried up the tabs on the metal straps and pressed them back down when done.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.Comment
