  • Festiva died but is back to life now

So this is the second time in 22 years that my Festiva quit on me.
Yesterday I was driving down the interstate and the Festiva just didn't want to go.
    Then it just quit!
I checked to make sure it was getting fuel, easy to check on a carbed car.
Just look down the carb and see if gas is squirting when you pump the accelerator.
Then I checked for spark - NONE.
I suspected the coil. Long story short, thats what it was.
Now it has a nice yellow Accell coil, it was the only one Advance Auto had in stock and the guy gave me 10% discount.

    Drive On!

5.0, what's the resistance of that coil?
Did you have to install a ballast resistor?

                What he said ^.
I should have the speedo fixed in the next couple of weeks.
I'm going to pull the 5-speed out of my white car and put it in my red one.
Yes, I did replace those very worn out front stuts
