Where does one find a scanner/reader to pull up trouble codes that works on a Festiva? I don't want anything fancy, just a basic model.

read this first:
OBD1 cars have a built in trouble codes or check engine light in the ECU... thats it. No place to plug in a code reader, very simlple. And to do that from GenevaDirts link: Short the STI connector to ground and count the flashes of the 'Check Engine' lamp.

Thank you for the info. I will give it a try. I have a well used Haynes manual. Are there any other Festiva's in this forum that have rust besides my 5? I'm from Northern Michigan, the rust belt.Comment

sorry- just had to say that. yes, typically northern cars of this age have little oxidation.... you aint alone on that.
