well for one, the engine needs a rebuild, i have an oil leak, and im burning oil. ill sit at mcdonalds and smoke out the person behind me. my rings are probably shot, valve stem seals probably are too. my brother in law has a cylinder honer but for as beat up as this engine is, honing might not do a good enough job. i dont know if ill lose mpgs or not, i dont even know if i will gain HP or not.

I think he is asking because it a small possibility the timing may be set for the higher idle, now with the idle being lower it would tend to retard the timing a bit to much which can make them use more fuel.

I believe the timing is set at 700 rpm to +/- 1 degree with the white electrical connector or vacuum line disconnected and plugged depending on the year of your car.

Might as well get a B6 to rebuild and keep your downtime to a minimum.

A running B6 is plug and play; less down time than the rebuild. Pop the B3 out, stuff the B6 in.

stupid question, but, are you sure you did not adjust an idle-air screw instead of the idle screw? i am not allowed to touch carbs or efi any more.....
