  • < Quarter tank engine runs odd

    hey guys just lookin for a possible reason.... when my tank gets below a quarter my engine starts running a bit funky... it feels as if its stalling as im attempting to accelerate. but it comes back so it gets to bouncing! should i drain the tank and try replacing fuel filter???
    91L 5 sp, 175k,a/c ,KYB gr2,Fms Lowering springs ,13" konig's ,09 tiburon seats, 7" Pyle in.dash,kicker ds400 all around,Kicker 400.2 powering 2 Kicker cvr 10", 30k hid's, hopeful to find a xr2 to swap b6t from....

    I would pull the cover above the tank that is located under the rear seat and look in there to see if there is some rust, it could be picking it up when it gets low.

      Yeah, 2x that!

      Or if your lazy, might try dropping the drain plug from the fuel tank and see what comes out.
      But you'd get a better look by removing the pump/sender assembly as wybnrml says.

        I'd pull the pump and look as was suggested but it just may be sucking air. The fuel gauge systems in our cars are not exactly known for complete accuracy. Mine ran out at approx. 1/8 according to the gauge.

          ok guys did just that and sure as can be rustt damn.. so im now droppin the tank and attempting to clean rust... should be fun right

            Hey guys ok so I got all loose rust that I could and also removed what attached rust I could . Still running like total crud ... Please help it's my dd guys got nothing elseeee I'm gonn take a video to post what it's doin

              Try blowing out the fuel lines, sometimes they get pieces of rust stuck in them.

                replaced fuel filter .. it is running better but for now im just gonna keep it full
