  • fixing swoopies

got mirrors in the mail and one of them had a huge series of cracks right down the middle due to the other mirror resting right on the glass in the package, the items were not packaged well at all, also broke a corner off the tail light. Anyways I am just wondering if anyone can tell me where I might be able to get replacement glass its for the driver's side swoopie, anyone know the dimensions etc etc? helps appreciated guess im just trying to fix the damages as much as I can i was really looking forward to these parts USPS is just herendous although this could have been avoided with the proper packaging..Anyway let me know if you can help thanks.

It would be easier to find a Protege Swoopie to replace the glass. I think the model of Protege is ~mid-90's LX.

Most glass shops can cut mirrors to size. It will cost you more than the whole rear view mirror though.

The part # for the replacement glass for the 1990 "swoopie" mirrors are #2589 for the left, and #3179 for the right side mirrors. These are also the correct #s for the Protoge mirrors....... unless you wish to go expensive and get the blue mirror replacements.
These mirrors are made by Burco. I sell TONS of their mirrors.

            four mirrors

I just disassembled four blue Protege mirrors at the junkyard about two hours ago. I left them behind because I only took the one passeneger motor housing with both ears intact. The mirrors were in perfect condition. The person really took care of their car. I also salvage any rubber mirror motor boots. Maybe I'll go back and get the mirrors and housings. Next weekend is all you can carry day. If you are careful and know what you are doing, it is easy to combinea Protege housing with a Festiva mount.
