  • A/C wiring help

So I finished my carb to EFI swap and besides a leaky head gasket, she's doing great. Put nearly 6,000 miles on her so far.

But I made a little boo-boo. I've now have the newer '91 main harness, and the older '88 A/C harness. The '88 has a three wire plug and the '91 has a four wire plug (that's just the size of the plug, the '88 actually only has 2 wires and the '91 has 3).

My question to you Gurus (Guri?) is what is that extra wire for and is it possible to mate the two sets of wires and have it work the way it's supposed to.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

You should be able to blow these up for more detail.

Any way you can take a closer picture of the carb model system? I already have a wiring diagram for my '91, I'm just lost on where the 88s harness goes.

Anyone else have any ideas? I'm sure I'm not the only person who has added in A/C

JMO, but I would find a FI harness to use because of the differences. I think there are too many in my experience when you factor in the amplifier box that is not used on the FI harness located the evaporator box on the carb setup. Also, I would grab the cooling fan, and the section of high pressure line that is shaped different that runs along the passenger side of the engine compartment.
