LCA to frame.

  • LCA to frame.

    My passenger LCA is stuck. the bolt attachment to the frame is free spinning.... weld-nut is still sturdy...sooo i assume to cut as close to frame and weld nut as possible and chisel off weld nut.... sound about the best idea??? any further opinions would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys!

      So, is the cage around the nut intact? Just went through this with my 90, and the way mine broke loose, I was able to cut the bolt head off, and drive the rest into the frame cavity. I then got slightly longer, but same diameter bolts, with lock washers and nuts, and using a large screwdriver to hold the nut in place inside the frame until tight, cranked her down to torque spec. I've put roughly a thousand miles on the car since then with no problems. Depending on how yours broke loose, not sure if you'll be able to do this or not.

                      I need to replace mine when I do the aspire swap.

                        Better start hitting the bolt threads and nuts with PB Blaster, NOW!
                        Your not likely to have as bad an issue as you don't live in the rust belt.
