1988 Festiva Carb vacuum line delete

I am proud to say i bought a new ford festiva. I would like to disable as many vacuum lines as i can because it is way to complicated right now. Can someone show me which lines can be capped off and deleted asap thanks

I can tell you the best thing to do is leave it alone before you get it where it can't be fixed.

All that stuff has to work together or none of it will work right. Generally speaking.

I concur with Mike for the most part!
However, if you want to know what can be "deleted" I'd learn what they do before you start "capping" off things.
Might be easier just to replace old, leaking, and cracked vacuum lines.
That may go a long way in getting thing running as they should.

If you start disconnecting the lines you are just asking for trouble.

The OEM carbs do look lot like a big plate of black spaghetti. This is a computer feedback carb and you start disconnecting things at your own risk. Some of us, when the OEM carb starts acting up, just make our own adapter and use a non-computer carb. I am using an aftermarket Weber that I saved off an old VW I used to own. Just the one vacuum hose to distributor advance. There is another guy on here that likes the very early Escort carb before they went to computer controls. It sure cleans up the engine compartment. But definitely not for anybody living where they do emissions inspections unless you are very good at disguising it. Maybe fool some by using original air cleaner and plenty of black spaghetti in strategic areas, but I wouldnt bet on it. Theoretically there is a front drive GLC non-computer carb that will bolt on without adapter. Its the non-computer version of whats on the Festiva so even looks very simular, but they only sold them with this carb for less than a year in like 1980 or something like that. Fat chance you ever find one in a junkyard. I tracked down a rebuilt one out of curiosity and it was not cheap.
