  • Jerking on deceleration

The car jerks only on decel, no matter what gear ,usually as I am slowing down for a light , I assume " ya ya I know " that the car has a fuel cut off on decel, it feels like it is trying to accel, decel, accel real quick until I get almost to a stop like a something needs tweaked a little would that be the TPS or a IAC adj ,it has been doing it for a while but seems like it's worse in colder weather, 90L Festy 5spd Thanks

If you figure it out let me know, the aspire and festiva both does the jerk. Kinda annoying seeing that most of the speed limits are 30 and at that speed no gear seems to be the right one.

My 90L 5 speed does that too. I just figured it was a combination of worn out engine and trans mounts and worn CV joints putting extra "slack" in the drive train that would cause the "bounce" under deceleration while in gear, since my car has around 250K on it

My mounts are fine and the cv's are tight and the trans is rebuilt just last November, I say it is for sure a fuel issue of possibly ignition but the tune up is not that old, it just started all at once and is getting worse

It says TPS "the throttle position sensor " ,If you have a broken or a loose TPS it can cause intermittent burst of fuel from the injector, and a unstable idle because the ECM thinks the throttle is moving , Hummm well I will check that ,and also check TPS signal voltage and check to make sure TPS is properly adjusted
