  • Suspension upgrades coming... advice wanted

My GR2 shocks/struts arrived yesterday! I'm going to install them in the next couple of weeks along with new lower control arms, modified springs, a "Tim DeRonne" rear sway bar and misc bushings.

Any suggestions or recommendations to make the job go as smooth as possible? I will most likely have access to air tools which I know will be a big help.

    Thanks

Are you going to Aspire brakes too? It doesn't sound like it, but I have to ask. (Aspire brakes are sooooo nice.)

Spray all the nuts and bolts you will be removing with a good penetrating oil at least once a day for a few days before you start. It only takes a couple minutes a day and you will be glad you did it

Yep, spray 'em down with PB Blaster in advance!

I'm still working on one of my shock bolts on my "new" Aspire rear axle. Funny how one side comes off easily and one doesn't. Just like the axle I ruined. One easy; one @#$%^&!

Especially the rear shock mounts where the mount bolt passes thru the sleeve in the strut. I think that is one of the most common rust areas for us up in the north doing the swap.
