emission tubes on 88 festiva

Ok i got a 88 festiva that i want to block off the tubes that got to the air cleaner from the exhaust. Has any one done this what was the method you did?
I don't have the money to change it with a efi style setup I just want to block them off so it don't fill the engien bay with exhaust and choke the motor.

Why is it filling the engine bay with exhaust?
Sounds like you need to get it working correctly before you start to "block off" things.
Are you asking about Exhaust Gas Recirculation from the cat. converter?

I used a threaded pipe plug, and a hose clamp on the rubber hose coming up from the cat converter.

I have a different air cleaner on it and they let all the exhaust in the engine bay.
And the car runs great i put a newer motor in it form bhazard and i have been running it all over the place and changed the air cleaner and now lets a bunch of exhaust through and it sounds bad so i wanted to clamp them off.

I went to the hard ware store and got those boots for chair legs and stuck them on and they are working great and don't look like crap.

u can just fabricate one for the cat and one for the exhaust outer manifold i'm gona be doing someafter market work with my spare engine and trans trying to bypass the computer and confuse it by diverting pressure and to tune all of my setup so my 89 can be a little faster
