will a distributer out of a 1991 festiva 5spd work in a 1989 festiva with an automatic? they are both fuel inj.

Nope, 89 autos have vac advance, you can use a 88-89 carbed disty but you'll lose a little power compared to the 89 auto disty because it has more advance than the carby ones.
