  • Need a new cylinder head? (Where do I get one)

Cylinder #4 is dead, 30 pounds on gauge dry. All others are 150+ on gauge. A few different mechanics have mentioned doing a complete head swap as opposed to a valve job (adding oil to the cylinder before test actually dropped the compression to 0). Does anyone have any insight or comments about this situation, and what course of action I should take? A re-manufactured head from Autozone/Moore's with hydraulic rocker arms is about $600 so maybe someone could point me into a cheaper direction. Any help would be most appreciated...thanks!

    Edit: This is a 91, automatic, 105,xxx.

Post a [WTB] ad in the For Sale section. I'm sure someone has one that is in good shape and alot cheaper than $600. Or you could look at doing an engine swap, like a B6 swap.

I will eventually, I would like to do a little bit more fact finding with people who have experience with these cars to see what other opinions are out there.
