  • Looking for help with Starting Problems

I have 1 93' Ford Festiva. 1.3L, Auto, no air.
The cars been running great for months, but over the last 2 weeks its been having problems starting.

When i turn the key sometimes it just starts right up, but now its harder and harder to start. it turns over and over then starts.

Its getting to the point now that sometimes it wont start at all.

I'm assuming that I need a new starter all together.

I have no clue how to change one, but i hear it ain't all that complex.

Any help or pictures on how to do this would be appreciated

If the engine is turning over fine and at the regular speed, it sounds like your battery and starter, etc. are fine. I'd be looking into fuel pump and/or ECM relays. I had a Honda that did the same thing and it was the ECM relay.

it almost never starts anymore. Its rare that it does.
When it does turn over it takes some effort

Check plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fule filter. When was the last time it had a tune up?

        Will it start when jumped?

          Problem Solved

We'll I spent $40 to get it it checked out by the local garage
Turns out it was just the battery.

It sure seemed like it was the starter oh well

          Thanks for all the advice
