  • Thumping speedo cable

    Coincedence?
My son bought a 94 Aspire that needed a new speedo cable. Went to pick and pull, got one, installed it and it works. But it is a little "jumpy". I bought a 90 Festiva, replaced cluster with tach cluster, rerouted and reinstalled cable. It's quite "jumpy". After a preliminary search here on the forum, seems the most common issue is lubrication. Can anyone provide me a bit of insight as to the best lube to use and or any other solutions.
    Thanks,
    Tex

Iv always used garage door track spray it works very well. Its almost the same as white lithium grease in a spray can.

When I ordered my NEW cable it came with a yellowish colored gel. You may be able to get just the gel at advance auto or autozone.
The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!
