head tail light trouble

  • head tail light trouble

    yesterday the headlight dont go to low or hight but on on parking light
    the tail not work and brake to and the cluster have no power to
    today i check the rellay on the passenger side and one wire was broke and i replace it
    now i got tail parking and cluster working but not the rest
    what could be the trouble
    ps :i just did the bp swap but the car wire did not change and its a 93 if it change

    I had similar problems with my '90 Festiva. The problems were caused by the 2 connectors that plug into the back of the instrument panel.

          update ive got no power to the tail fuse and i check the stoplight switch and the plug was unplug because when i change the cumputer i unplug for give me space to work now the brake light work
          now my only trouble was the headlight

            good job on the tail lights. if it was as simple as that, check the bulb connectors on the headlights. seems weird if you've checked the fuses and all that both high and low beams still don't work.

              ive check more the low work but no power to the high
              ive check to the dimmer switch and the red and blue wire dont have power at low or high

                replace the fuseable link for the headlights, located on the left front strut tower.
                Trees aren't kind to me...

                currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
                94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

                    Still could have a bad relay.
                    '93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)

                      If the cluster lights work, I would think that your dimmer switch would be fine. Also, your dimmer switch only controls interior lights, not headlights. You may need a new headlight switch. It is inside the steering column. If you flash your high beams, do they work at all? Or will they not even flash?
                      The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!

                        no it only work on daytime running lamp and the little blue light on the cluster that say your hi are on dont work

                          Sounds like the switch IMO.
                          The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!

                            update today i get a dimmer switch from junkyard and installe to the festiva and still no hi and low and after i check my relay and problem solve that was the relay on the driver side ive got light
                            thanks to evryone help now i enjoy the bp in my little bomb the power of this engine was awesome
