don't bother, not a reall indicator of charge rate as it will show amps at all voltages... you want a volt gauge to monitor your state of charge.Trees aren't kind to me...

Volt meter not a real indicator of charging, either. To install the amp meter, cut the small wire on the Positive Battery cable and install the meter in between it, with the "+" terminal on the gauge connected to the wire going to the battery clamp. If you want to install it inside the passenger compartment, you will need to extended the wires. Use 10ga. wire. Make sure the terminals on the back of the meter do not short out to anything.

10 ga for 60A?!? NO too small, you need 6ga for what the factory alt can produce, and you DO want a volt meter because an alt can still generate current when it's near dead (producing batt voltage only) and that amp gauge will read fine, but you're not actually charging the battery. get a volt meter. besides, they're much easier to install, and safer.Trees aren't kind to me...
