When i hit the gass its like the car doesnt wanna go. When i hit the gas with the clutch in you can hear a second were it bogs down before reving up. To me it sounds like a bad fuel pump. I adjusted the clutch and its good. Has new fuel filter.

Have you had this problem? how did you fix it?

I have the pump out of the car. I am going to run it backwards and foward with some paint thinner. Then put it back in. If thats no good then ill take it apart and clean it. If thats no good then i will buy a new one.

    Im open for ideas.

i take it you have a carbed engine, check to see that you're bowl is full and then verify the accel pump and jet are working.

I'd check timing as well as the timing belt.

                  Check the air filter.
I was working on a spire and it had the same problem and ended up being the air filter. I didn't check that because it was to dumb and little and didn't think it would cause it to that.

Check the air flow tube for leaks from the box to the intake, any rips or holes will restrict the vane operation.
Also wet/damp dist cap (had alot of rain lately?) this normally creates a cutout like water in the fuel.

I would suspect your spark plugs. When they fail, often the first sign is misfiring during acceleration, especially when the engine is cold.

Install a set of NGK V-Power plugs. If that doesn't help, take them out and save them for your next tuneup.

The air filter looked great. Not new but mabye only a few months old.

I still havent checked the timing.

If not the timing what r some ofther things to check.

Its like i am holding down the break on take off. It just doesent wanna move.
