crackling noise?

Ok so zippy has been doing this for a while now, but ever since I did the exintake swap it seems louder...

Symptoms..

While stepping on the gas the engine makes a crackling noise as if the cams dont have any oil to them..my oil is good and full and this only happens while in drive I can be in park rev the engine in a high idle and it won't make this sound...

Also it feels like im losing power when the sound is loud..any suggestions?

too much advance

It sounds to me like you have way too much spark advance under load. First check your base timing. If you have a screw for your distributor vacuum, try retarding it.

I appreciate it that's what it was! I adjusted the distributor and to compensate for the low idle i adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body now the noise is gone.. thank you...
