My buddy buys an 89 carbed festiva........

I have an injected so mine runs real good so I am asking what needs to be done with his because I just don't read up on carbed.

his runs ok but no idle when cold, dies when you hit the gas but will rev good if you take it slow.

No idle when cold is due to the choke not working. The slow rev could be a billion things. Have you got it up to running temp yet? If so does it still die when you try to rev it then?

change carb

Read drdan's post on his carb change, and then do the same. Don't waste any time or money troubleshooting or fixing the choke. Get rid of your computer controlled feedback carb. You will be amazed.
