Auto to Manual... CPU swap?

Ok I'm thinking about swapping out my motor and tranny for a manual set up but I need to know if the CPU or any electronic parts have to get switched as well.

My mechanic thinks there's something about the fact it's a FI with auto it should need something electronic swapped

For the Festiva there is no real noticeable difference between the auto and manual transmission ECU. There is no electronic control for the transmissions in either setup

From '90 on no one has documented any differences between Festiva or B6 ECUs. They all seem to be two-plug setups that are interchangeable between ATX and MTX cars.

There may be some differences in pre-'90s though.

Festiva trannies have no ECU controls.
