I installed a factory cruise control kit on the aspire, I thought it might be easier than a aftermarket kit. Well I can't get the blasted thing to work. Well I have all the hoses and eletrical connections hooked up according to instructions. I know I have vacuum to the resoivor, I haven't tested to the servo yet - somehow they decided to use a 5/32 hose on a 7/32 connection so it's a little tight. I dropped the servo when I first tried to install so I'm wondering if maybe the servo's dead. I know the system has power. The clutch switch is a clicking, I even bypassed it to no avail. The safety brake bleed off i've reset a couple times and the electrical connection on the brake lights work. The ford tech cd's doesn't say anything about cruise for the aspire. Could be the connections on the computer but the only one I had to put together was the switch and according to the computer the connections are in the right spots. Anybody know I how can test the servo or the system in general?

He he. I bid up to about $20 on it and Eric got it because he wanted it more! I wasn't sure if it would work on a Festiva, so that's why I didn't bid much. Just a lark.
Good luck on it Eric!

It works!!!! ...it was the clutch switch I think.. Feels funny since it kicks up it's heels first then settles down. This along with my center armrest longs trip will finally be tolerable. I was only going to bid up so far.. after a certain point the audiovox would have made more since.. but i'm probably the only one with factory cruise on a aspire so maybe it was worth it.91 rusty Festiva 260k

Lawnmower style cruise control
That's what was factory-standard on my first real car, a red 1974 Fiat 128SL with 1.3L, which I bought new from the dealer for $2850 in the cardboard box. You pushed the accelerator pedal down, then gently pulled on this knob on the instrument panel to take up slack, and turned it clockwise to engage the friction lock. Worked like a charm. Nothing could disengage it, not even standing on the brake pedal.88L black, dailydriver
