  • car is shaking..

As i was driving home today zippy started to shake side to side everytime i hit the gas, as if something is off balence or loose. I jacked the car up on the passenger side and noticed that the the tire can move side to side but the lug nuts are tight. could it be that my tie rod is ethier loose or worse? i also checked the driver side and it was solid "no movement"...any suggestions how i can fix this?

Well if the tire can move side to side you have a tie rod problem. Have a friend shake the wheel while you feel for movement to determine inner or outer

more likely a bad LBJ than a tierod end, though if the LBJ is bad, the tierod ends (both inner and outer) usually aren't far behind. also carefuly inspect your sway bar bushings for wear.

buy new from mc autoparts with warrenty, they're easy to replace as long as the old ones play nice when it's time to come out.

Yes, make sure they order the ones for your trans, auto or manual.

the cv's being bad will not fix the movement problem IMO. I would check the control arm bushings on the side of the movement. I am basing this on you say that things move when you give it the gas....had the same problem as well as many others on here and it turned out to be those bushings.
