Electrical gremlin

I need some advice. Multi function combo switch,lighting stalk. When I turn the lights to the first click (parking lights only), the headlights come on. At the second click, they stay on. High beams work fine ass do turn signals. I just don't have the ability to burn parking lights only. Thought maybe the switch was bad so I switched it out with one I got from ROBOSKITTLE. I still have the same issue.
What is it?...a short somewhere, relay problem, poor connection somewhere? Anybody ever heard of this?

At the first click, do all the lights come on, or just the headlights?
Sounds to me like some relays got rewired at some point.

I have the same problem on my 93GL. Got to looking in the headlight area and found a massive rewire. Doesnt bother me as much now. Will install new front harness when ready for paint.

Good question Bat. All lights come on in both positions. Where is the relay located? Is there a different relay for headlights and parking lights? I'm stumped. Thanks for the rapid reply.
