  • Shudders from stop

At a complete stop, my car shakes when I lift up on the clutch and try to go forward. I am giving it enough gas. Also I noticed that my accelerator cable is a little loose when it wraps around the acc. throttle.

I am not sure what maybe causing this, but if someone could give me some insight, that would be great.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Mine does that too. It's probably the engine mounts showing their age.

      mine does it too.

my mechanicly inclined friend, and the last person who replaced the clutch, said the clutch isn't grabbing right.

i have a relatively new clutch on now though and it's doing it again, it started doing it again relatively quickly after i had the clutch replaced. maybe it is the engine mounts?

Did they resurface the flywheel when they or you put the clutch in ? Mine done that all he time , when the tranny was out replaced the clutch ,pp, T/O brg, pilot brg, and had the Flywheel resurfaced and it has not done it since and that was back in November , A warped surface or one that has alot of hot spots on the flywheel will give you the shudder all the time on take off , If it is too bad ,you will prolly need to replace it ,you can only take so much out of it ,before you risk toasting a new clutch .

          they did resurface the flywheel.

i'm going to do an engine swap in this car possibly around summer time, so i'm not all that concerned.

Hmmm I didn't resurface my flywheel and have no shudder with a new clutch. Maybe it's just breaking in.
