  • 93 Capri help?

I know nothing about Capri's except that some brake/axle parts fit on the Festiva. I know some of you prolly know way more than I about them, so maybe one of you can help.

Not my car, belongs to a really nice woman I met recently. She came back from a trip and NO HEAT in her car. She told me its stuck on AC.

    Her words:
"I HAVE TO TAKE MY CAR IN. THE HEATER DOOR IS NOT WORKING. AND IT IS TOO COMPLICATED FOR ME TO FIX MYSELF. IT IS STUCK ON A/C. IT SWITCHES BACK AND FORTH. IT IS A 93 CAPRI".

Any one have any suggestions? (you could make me her hero ) Of course, i'd have to give credit to the one who helps!
It wouldn't be right not to.

    Thanks guys!

I was wondering, if there were similarities between the Capri and the Festiva Heater/AC controls?

Probably the cable attatched to the HVAC controls? I've heard of them snapping before, or the plastic part where it attatches to the door

Hey thanks ever'body! I found a service manual on "Heating and Defrosting"
for the 93 Capri in PDF. Downloaded it. Shows the entire system.
I'll know better when I actually see it, but doesn't look to bad to try and fix it.
(famous last words) I agree, its probably the "air mix door" as the manual called it, on the blower housing with the heater core. Access thru glove compartment to see the cables and behind heater/ac control on dash.
If nothing else, I can probably rig it so she can have heat until a proper fix.
