Cranking issue

Ok for some reason the car i drive seems to be flooding once in a while i try to crank it...
don't touch the gas but it seems to flood about once in 5-8 times i crank it
need advice on what to look into that could cause this
i am not very mechanically inclined so be NICE

We talking Festiva here? Or something else? Carbed/FI?
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that your fuel cutoff solenoid is not completely cutting off fuel all of the time, leaving some in there for the next start, thereby flooding it. That is just a random guess, based on not much info tho, so take it for what it's worth.
