One thing you could try is to unhook the vacuum hose that goes to the side of the breather (passenger side) and plug it up. Then the ABC valve won't have any effect. Might help, I don't know. Oops, sorry I didn't see that you already had it repaired. This might help for the ones that are bucking in 2nd gear though. That's what mine used to do.

This relates to me, lol. I dont quite get the plugging and the location of the vacuum lines I need to plug, you said passenger side. what would I plug mine with?

Golf tee. Screw. Anything that fits. It's on the bottom of the breather on the passenger side. I think it's where the air comes from when the ECU adjusts the air/fuel ratio. It may not work, but it's easy to try.

I am still getting a bit of bucking in 2nd gear. It is not too bad but, I still notice it. Turns out the local mechanic here where I live drives a '91 Festy every day. He knows a lot about them. I may get him involved. Will keep informed.
