  • WOT and then......

Last night I gave her a good WOT run mostly in 3rd up a grade..... Prolly had 'er floored for ~10 seconds(LOL! If I did that in the Prix I'd be at 120mph+) ANYWAYS, afterwards as I was coming to a stop it started running bad. Like so bad I thought it was gonna die. And I don't mean stall, I mean engine failure....

It sounded like it had no compression or something? Regardless, it only lasted about 30 seconds and then stopped and has been running just fine since....

    What the h-e-doublehockeysticks!??!?

    Any ideas?
    Buck.

The fuel filter could be cloged and cause it to die at constant wot while normal driving dosent need as much fuel.

        Probably just a sticky VAF.
Stuck when wide open and took a sec to drop back to idle position.

The eff does that do? Is it kinda like a mass airflow sensor or something?

Its simular to a mass air flow in that it meters the incoming air, but it has a door that opens according to how far the throttlebody is opened. The door can get sticky.... u can spray some cleaner in there and de-gunk it.

Be sure and use the proper cleaner that is okay for VAFs, etc.

Might be a good time to clean out what you can, and maybe run some Seafoam through your engine, too.

I <3 seafoam, should be a smokeshow for this car.

I'll do all of this when it gets warm, we're expecting yet another snowstorm :/
