So both passive restraint assemblies work properly. It is the module that is intermittently working on the drivers side. Always works on pass side. Sure I can replace the module but since this issue is common I want to fix the module. Is it some cold solder joint? Some little chip inside? Bueller.... Bueller..... anyone.... anyone?

Swapped the module for a known good. Problem not solved. Put suspect module in known good festy. Module works. So drivers side passive restraint assembly is faulty. BUT it doesn't act or sound bound up. I don't want to replace. I really want to trouble shoot. Track slides perfectly when it goes. It never sticks halfway or binds or grinds. The pass side works flawlessly. Even when the module is only plugged in and not bolted down. Still I wonder if it could be a ground issue. intermitant connection at the main harness connector, OR at the belt motor. look for corosion. i've also found broken wire shield that allows corosion to grow. mostly in GM J body headlight harnesses though.Trees aren't kind to me...
