  • Hydraulic lash adjusters

Just changed the head and it's making alot of tappet noise.
I totally forgot to check the Hydraulic lash adjusters cause there normally not an issue.
But then it dawned on me that the donor car hasn't been started since 92, so the question is: has anyone had this problem, will they prime up themselves before damage is done?

Most the ones I've bought that were sitting have done it for a while but ended up unsticking themselves. One of them waited a couple of weeks lol. But if you do find yourself replacing some of them you can get them from an 88-92 MX-6/626, same part number and they work fine. If you pull an MX6 head and strip all the HLAs you have enough to do the whole festiva head with 4 spares (the 2.2 was a 12 valve motor). I'm sure the B6 ones and probably B8 ones would fit as well, just never tried it since I parted out an MX6 a while back and saved a dozen HLA off of it and I always used those. It helps if you store them in a plastic lidded dish with oil, submersed in the oil
    No festiva for me ATM...
