Alternator Q

No time for a search (auction ending) so I am asking this question in hope of a quik answer.

Is there a difference in the alternators for auto tranny vs. manual tranny?

$45 no core charge $15 shipping for one, $60 total, but says for AT

Automatics, which were all fuel injected, these alternators will not have a slot for the wire from the choke to connect to.

nope dont think so. i also checked with parkrat he said the same thing.

So can I use this At version on a MT tranny/carb? A mod or can I still hook up the wire?

eng trans shouldnt matter on the alt. cause you can go from manual trans to auto trans and not touch the alt. right?

Well auction ended without being bought before I could get back to it, so it will prolly be re-listed. I will be watching for it, or contact seller.

Dan the carbed cars have an extra wire on the alt. this is for the choke. As for the EFI cars the trans doesn't make a difference in alt.s

Actually, Festyboy, batstiva doesn't say he made the pig tail, just that he's "running one!"
I don't think it was at FM3, I believe it was after Deans funeral that batstiva's ALT failed on him at Mom's place.
I still have your diagram in my trouble guide that you made showing the correct connections.

Correct. Arty made up the connections. Arty, wasn't trying to steal your glory there. I thought I posted that you had made it. I did give you props in a followup PM with a member, if that counts.
