Excellent reason to have the hand brake Watt!
I am not about the condition of my brake lines, but that is all the more reason to get them check and install my e-brake, ha ha.

Thanks so much guys, and Charlie your curb idea is excellent for an emergency, I didn't even think of that!

I suggested the jack/stands/creeper kit from Sears :p
      WmWatt suggested the curb haha

Regardless, it is good to keep in mind in an emergency! For now I'll keep using the jack and stands haha.

Good luck on the install! Have you posted pics of your festy yet?

OzOne. Don't want to divert the thread but while your on brakes, be sure to check the steel lines in the front fender area. There is a right angle bend in the lines - both sides - right where the lines come thru the body panel from the engine bay into the wheel well. Mud and dirt - stays wet - collects in the bend causing eventual rusting out of the lines. Clean the area and get an inspection mirror to see what you can see. My experience blowing thru a red light with a semi coming from both left and right is cause for my post. Good thing they accelerate slow. The left hand line rusted thru.

The carpet is actually the hardest part of the whole job...unless you're seatbelt bolts are frozen...but then again, I don't remember if you Festy guys have to worry about the seat belt bracket; on the Aspires, there is no way around it & some of them can get stuck pretty bad.

Just buy a set of small jackstands for about $20. They will be worth it, and you can consider it part of your tool budget. You do have a tool budget, right? If not, work one out. Any man worth being called a man has one...

Excellent point. I lost my brakes on an F250 going downhill around a corner into a quiet neighbourhood with narrow winding roads. Too bad sometimes those are the kind of things that happen before a person realizes just how important it is to inspect brake lines and the like.
