Well my pump has "b660" casted on it and the pump I bought has "b6S8" on it. I found one on ebay that is oem from mazda in the box that has the cast #b660 and has 6 bolts on the rear of the pump like mine.
The big nose has 7 bolts on the rear. So I'm waiting to see if I can get a refund for the one I bought bc its a 323 gt that has the small crank and he had it listed wrong bc he sent a big crank pump.

why are you replaceing the pump? did it fail? to be honest if you plan on building a motor down the road i would look for the big nose 1.6 crank and just swap it in, the short nose are known to fail. put a wanted post on turbomiata.net or miata.net, they can be had for a 100 or less, most of those guys give 1.6 stuff away due to they rather swap in a 1.8

So is the 91 capri a big nose crank? And has the same main cap sizes and rod sizes correct? There is one at my local jy I can go grab for cheap if that's the case.

No the pump didn't fail, I'm replacing every componet. The engine sat for god knows how long. So I would like to just have the assurance of all new parts.

Looks like the kia sephia and some protoges have the long nose crank as well.

After reading the miata info on the above link. I have the fig#3 crank. (Small diamater with long keyway) this crank was a revision I guess and doubled the keyway area. I don't need a big crank to run big hp.
