  • Dash lights, taillights dead. All fuses good

Help please. 1990 L, No history of electrical problems. No work done recently. Leaving work the other day and the car stumbled while accelerating at about 40 MPH. I thought It was going to stall out. This went on for about 10 seconds then it soothed out. Never done that before or since. It was later that same day that I noticed the light problem. No dash lights,Tail lights, radio or climate control lights. No idea why. All fuses are good.

Where should it start to diagnose?

My buddy had this problem after he installed a aftermarket stereo, he grounded it through the stock ground wire and had the problems. The second he grounded to the body, all problems were gone.

I had this happen to my MX6, the "tail" fuse was good but it wasn't making contact for some reason, I guess maybe the contacts in the fusebox weren't tight enough. Anyway, I pulled the fuse out and twisted the tabs just a slight bit, but enough to make contact again. That was several months ago and I haven't had any other problems. Thats where I'd start on it, I think the dash and tail lights are on the same fuse in the festies as well.
      No festiva for me ATM...

OP, stated it was a '90, so it is EFI.
