Does anyone have a diagram or an electronic version of the manual for Jatco automatics used in Festivas??

I'm gunna guess that Jim (FB71) has access to what you need

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I hope so. I think I made a major boo boo. I was wiping off the large output shaft and it slid out. Now it doesn't want to go back in all the way. I'm hoping it didn't drop a gear or thrust washer. I had this happen on a Ford C6 once and it was a total PITA to get back in

This is as far as it will go now.

i did the same thing, on the trans end of the shaft theres a circlip. take the small input shaft out, and tap the bigger one in all the way with a wood block. then reinstall the smallest input shaft ive ever seen ever

ive been a mechanic for most of my whole adult working career. and i have seen multitudes of different trans input shafts in "my day." when i pulled the motor out of the festiva, and pulled the torque converter, i seriously laughed hard.

i pulled the shaft out by accident, and figured if it didnt go back in i would just go thru the trans, when i took it out there was a clip on the end, like that of a cv axle shaft. so i just knocked it back in.
