  • Another one for the great minds

Ok, I put an engine in Twizted a few weeks ago. It was an engine that had set up for a while, not sure exactly how long. Got it all in and running. It runs really good but it puffs oil smoke and has a small amount of blow by. It really seems to get bad if I let it idle for long periods of time and when I take off it will smoke good for a bit then kinda go away. I figured the valve seals were hardened from setting so I started to go through another head to do a swap, but before I did that I figured I would ask to see if anyone had any other ideas before I sink another $99 in a head gasket set.

My old BP festiva did that, try changing the PCV, if i remember right that was my problem

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Wow, cool, this thread is me too. Except mine does all of the above a little more. OK, I will just watch this thread without posting anymore as to not thread jack the owner.
