  • What's this called

What is it and what does it do? Is it suppose to look like crap inside? Is the small hose supposed to connect to something? Mine has a screw plunging it up

well that is supposed to be a blue traced hose that connects to the blue solenoid on the firewall. It is part of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system.

Ok. I know what tube you mean. It's connected to one of the carb connectors

I knew this car was probably put together wrong. I've only had it month and half. These hoses are all screwed up I bet. Is that part suppose to have gunk built up in it?

How do I know which motor this is? Are they all the same. Is this motor from a different car? I'm confused

88-89 4-speed cars are carby's. I am assuming that is what you have. I own an 88 carby and have a customers 89 carby out here to but the vacuum lines are all identical.

The white metal thing on the side of the air cleaner is called Ford Pulse Air System. It's part of the emission contols. A search of the Internet (Google) will display an explination of what it does. I keep forgetting.

it's a passive A.I.R. system, it's there to feed oxygen to the cat to keep it lit and working properly. the one hose works a baffle to pump filtered air to the other tube that goes to the second half of the cat.

Sorry guys, I'm not getting messages saying I got a reply. So that part shouldn't be corroaded inside then.
