  • Reverse lights stay on??

Okay so I've been searching the past hour and still cant find the complete answer. I jsut did a motor swap in my 88 to a 91 motor and tranny. The new tranny only has 2 plugs instead of 3 (the third is the 4th gear shift point cancel switch I guess). When I plug in the reverse lights switch, they are on in every gear, unplug it and of course they shut off.

Do I need to splice any wires with the new tranny to get them to work properly? The reverse lights worked just fine in my stock 4spd tranny. Thanks guys!

sounds like you have the neutral safety switch and reverse light switch mixed up that's why its on in every gear if you take it out of gear it turns off ?

Is it possible the switch in the trans is bad? Try taking it out and checking continuity.

The thing is, it was working in my original tranny, I had to pull it out and put it in the new tranny because the wires were cut on the new tranny...
