Hey Guys. Does anybody know if the gear in the assembly where you check transmission fluid is interchangeable between Aspire and Festiva transmissions? Thanks in advance.

do I need to find one from an aspire then? What all do I need to make the speedo read correctly? Should I just stick with the Festy tranny and forget about the little gain I was hoping to get from The lower final drive? Is is a noticeable gain? Iirc .377 to .405 right? A member has one with 110,000 miles for a good price and I really would like to make it work. Help?

Reason: needed more info
You should use the gear that goes with the transmission, but they are interchangeable.
I've run both in my Aspire trans. With 155/80-12 tires, the Aspire gear made the speedo more accurate (before it died).

How is the gearing going to be off? If he's swapping trannies, then it's going to be off, but if the speedo gears interchange, then that means they have the same amount of teeth, otherwise they wouldn't swap.
Swapping speedo gears isn't going to do anything 1 way or the other.
