'91 Festiva 5-speed.
A month ago, I had a few times when the stick shift wouldn't move into one or more gears. It it was different gears and would happen whether I was shifting up or starting off (1st or reverse). I would have to mess clutching and re trying again. The problem disappeared. Never a good sign.
The other day, my shifter assembly fell down. Now, it all makes sense. The problem with shifting was caused by the rubber shifter mount tearing. After "fixing" the problem, I noticed how tight my shift pattern is now.
No problem. Just wanted this to show up in any SEARCH for Shifting problems. Hopefully, it will help others out.
