  • Bad problems.

Background : changed alt belt last week. It was tight no squeks. Now. It's seems to be missing and shuddering more that it did in the past. Relay by feet is clicking and engine and shift light flash. Now yesterday and today I'm guessing I'm down to about 25 mpg instead of 38-40 I don't know where to start on this car. Seems like every couple of weeks seems like something.

Well atleast with the way its going in a couple months everything will be new. Loll jokes asidethough is the alternator belt the only thing you did. Did you adjust the alternator properly? Did you remember to tighten both adjuster bolts, did you maybe by accident losses the water pump pulpy, accidently turn the crank? Need a little more info on the problem and attempted. "Solutions" you have tried thus far

    What do you mean misses?

Posibly too tight causing excess stress on the engine?

The car spudders. The belt isn't in the same spot it was before. It's got a little slack. I "may" have turned the crank a little. I my have to part this car out but I love my car. I want her fixed. I love Justiva

You said you changed the alt. belt not the timing belt, right? So, no need to worry about moving the crank pully. Tighten the alt belt till you have about a quarter inch of play in it when you push down on it with one finger. Should be good to go.

Found out the belt squeal. Oil on the belt. Oil everywhere. Even in the air filter!!!!

So I look more. The car battery is dead now. And so I go to pull spark plug wire off and the inside of the wire comes off.

                      Hey,

First thing I would do is track down the oil leak. then it sounds like a full tune up is in order provided you don't discover something catastrophic. Check your pcv valve while your at it and make sure there isn't oil getting past it. Hard to help you diagnose without more detailed symptoms. Good luck , and let us know what you discover.
