New Car - Slipping Clutch?

Hi Guys,

I am now the proud owner of a 91 Festy!

On my drive home i noticed the clutch release is really high which makes it stupidly easy to drive, however I think the clutch is slipping as it tended to rev higher than it was moving if that makes sense.

I'm a bit of a mechanical newb so thought i'd ask here firstly.

a) is it a slipping clutch?
b) how do i fix it?
c) how much am i looking at to do so.

It maybe that the clutch cable is too tight, there should be a couple of inches of pedal freeplay before the clutch fully disengages. A slipping clutch is when you are accelerating and your rpms climb but your mph doesn't. If it's not that then the only fix is a new clutch

welcome to the site and the new addiction. Clutch is probably slipping. I like pulling the motor to do the clutch swap but others will tell you drop the trans. I hate working on my back and you have to get the car high in the air and stable to do it from below.

I'd suggest you adjust the clutch with the proper free play in the pedal and then evaluate whether you need to do more.
