  • Noise when accelerating or going up hills.

    Hi Guys,
Having an issue with my 95 1.3ltr Festiva. It seems that when I accelerate or go up a hill it makes a rattling noise in the engine. It really sounds like there is a ball bearing bouncing around in the engine. I’ve just given it a full service (oil, plugs, leads and filter) but I’m not sure what it could be. It’s been happening for a while but it seemed to have been getting worse lately. Any ideas?? :?
    Cheers Duncan

Only when you accel,or go up hills ?
Sounds like detonation ,Spark knock possibly,Did it happen all at once ?
If so you may have got some bad gas ,When was the last tune up .
Your timing may have moved ,
Is your Disty tight ,if it is loose it may have moved around a little and changed your timing, causing this .
I am assuming your oil is good and full

Cheers. I'm going to get some fuel cleaner additive and also get it tuned in a couple of days. I'll let you know how I go.
      Cheers

It was a timing issue. Found out that it was pinging. Made a slight adjustment and its running like a dream. Thanks again.
