  • cold air intake

I built a cold air intake for my car, with the cone filter. NOt my car seems to sputter and sometimes it falls on it's face when i hit the gas. Also it smells really bad. what could cause this and how can i fix it? My car is a 1990 with the stock 1.3 in it.

My guess is you didn't seal the CAI good enough.
So you are getting un-metered air into your intake which screws-up your AF ratio, resulting in the behavior you are having.
Check the CAI over for openings and bad sealing.

It's OK, I'll just cry quietly to myself and shake my head knowing we, as a species, do not have much longer at the top of the food chain.

the tube from my pvc is going into the back of my intake, right up top. I assume thats where it's suppose to go since i have never touched it before. Also i changed my valve cover gasket cause i noticed it was leaking. Hope this will all help out a little bit.
