  • Water pump replacement

I am pretty sure my water pump needs replaced.

I am getting a pretty good coolant leak out of the bottom of the timing belt cover.
Its either the gasket or possibly the shaft seal
I already bought a new water pump.
I read the manual and everything looks like a normal swapo-chango.

    Any suggestions or tips on the replacement ? ? ? ? ?

    This is on a B6 SOHC from a 92 mazda 323....no A/C.

It's fairly straightforward. Be careful not to gouge the metal when you scrape the old gasket off the engine.

I had no problems when I replaced the water pump and if you're careful you shouldn't either.

If you haven't replaced the timing belt it would be good to do that while you are in there.

Do not over tighten the bolts on the pulley when your replace.
I stripped one out the first time I replaced my water pump.
