        out of park

i Had the same problem on my 93 festiva. make sure that your radio is off and press on the brake pedal and a clicking sound should come out of the shift console and keep pressing on it. there is what i call a lockout in the shifter that is electric and it opens the latch when the brake pedal is depressed. i keep a spare at home in case mine needs replacing if needed take off the shifter handle and console cover and look to the right of the shifter you will see it with wires and it is bolted to the shifter base and see if it opens when you depress the pedal but the clicking or swooshing sound will tell you if it is opening.

thanks for everyones quick response, i dissasembled the shifter console and found that the foot brake triggered parking servo was broken, the servo that does not allow you to move out of park without your foot on the brake. Thanks.

suddenly starting to miss big time

Still have the 92 festy, doesnt burn or leak oil, the engine chatters a bit but everything works great.

but, lately the engine started to hicup once and while and I knew something was up.
today it just started to run like crap like it was on 2 cylinders.
im sure this is a common problem but i want fix up if can.

Can anyone give me a point to start looking for the problem.
whats first and then whats next

            hopefully its a easy fix

            any help is appreciated

First suggestion is to post this as a new thread/post with its own title.

Second is for moderator to remove this post and your question in this thread after you re-post it!
