My a/c isnt good I need to repair it but cant figure it out and with the temps in the 100's for the past 15 days and for the next week at least I need to repair it before my 2 year old son sweats a lake in my car. Ok first off my a/c fan wont come on its the relay but Idk where it is can someone point me in a place to look? Second Ford did a horrible job converting it to 134a a long time ago so it leaks out over the winter and they didnt put the right fittings on the lines so it makes it difficult to hook to. Third with the a/c on it works going down the highway but only cools to 60 degrees and thats at 70mph. Please help if not for me for my son

You say you have an AC Fan which leads me to believe you have an Automatic transmission (only autos came with a separate condenser fan).
This info might help others, help you locate the relay.Last edited by crazyrog17; 07-17-2011, 11:16 AM.-Zack

ok relays are in the driver fender behind the headlamp. you can get the retrofit fittings from any McAuto parts store. as for the cooling capacity, you should be seeing about a 40* differance between the vent temp and outside temp. so at 100* ambiant, 60* vent temp is good.Trees aren't kind to me...

Yes it is an automatic I didnt think to say that. I will look behind the headlamp. So my a/c isnt doing to bad if there is a 40 degree difference it was 102 degrees on my way home today and it was 60 degrees in the car, now I need to figure out to make it better Thank you guys.

The large line is the low pressure side, i.e. the cold side. The small one is the high pressure side, i.e. the hot side.1963 Fairlane - future NSS drag car

you're looking for something like THIS where 86 goes to the clutch power wire, 85 is ground, 30 comes from the fan (ground wire), 87a stays disconnected, and 87 goes to ground.Trees aren't kind to me...

no, don't want to do that as the fan circuit is built for 1 fan. if you add an aux fan you need to have it on a seperate fused circuit so that you don't overload the wiring.Trees aren't kind to me...
