  • Difficult shifting when warmed up.

Hi All - Weird situation. '88 LX. Within the last few days, I've noticed the Festy shifts like butter when first starting out, but within about 20 -30 minutes of driving (fully warmed up) it starts to get really knotchy. No grinding, just like someone put a quart of peanut butter in the gearbox. When stopped to pop into the store for 5 minutes, same thing. Come out to start. Easy to shift, then harder to shift when warmed up. Thanks!

verify that you have ATF in your trans and not gear oil, also while you're checking, look for metal particles in the fluid.

Thanks for the "mercy reply"! Will do. The weirdness is that when cold it really does shift easy and relatively tight. I'll seach a few threads (being lazy) and see what I can find. Thought maybe someone had a "silver bullet" on this one. Just being sarcastic about the second comment. Consider this one buttoned up.
